Capstone Insurors is helping with the fight against texting while driving by using the latest trend in fashion. They are giving "W82TXT" thumb bands to local high school students during a presentation about the importance of not texting while driving.
A study by the Virginia Tech Transportation Institute states that drivers are 23 times more likely to be involved in a car accident while texting. 57% of American drivers admit to texting while driving.
41 states and the District of Columbia ban texting while driving. Another 6 states ban new drivers from texting while driving...Missouri is one of those states.
Since this remains a prevalent and completely preventable issue, Capstone Insurors is encouraging students to get involved by wearing their bands in support of the cause. The thumb bands and presentation materials were part of a program from Auto-Owners Insurance, one of the insurance carriers the Capstone Insurors represents.
It is better to lose one minute of your life than to lose your life in one minute.
