Kevin Krueger opened Capstone Insurors, Inc. in June of 1997. A one-man agency with only himself and a receptionist, Kevin's dedication to hard work and community service saw the business grow quickly and it hasn't stopped.
"I consider myself fortunate to have chosen a field and built a business that allows me to give back to the community," says Kevin. "Some of my favorite programs are the ones that get us out of the office and into the schools and businesses. Our Wellness Program, in particular, provides educational material and resources to school nurses/ wellness coordinators as they work to help school employees make healthy choices."
Kevin holds a Bachelor of Science degree in finance and has over 14 years experience in the insurance industry. He has served on the Missouri Association of Independent Agents (MAIA) Board of Directors and continues to actively support this industry. Kevin is multi-line licensed, specializing in employee benefits. He has also received an LUTCF designation from The Life Underwriting Training Council.
Kevin and his wife, Sandy, have two sons; Bryce and Jace. Family time is a top priority for the Krueger's and Kevin spends much of his free time coaching his sons' teams in a variety of sports. The family attends the United Methodist Church in Bolivar.
Producer/VP of Agency Operations
Darin came to Capstone in 2004 after a nine year career in education where he taught high school mathematics and physical education and coached high school basketball and golf. He sells all lines of insurance but spends most of his time in Property and Casualty Risks which included home, auto, personal umbrella, commercial liability, commercial property, commercial auto, workers compensation and other types of policies. In 2011, Darin earned a Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) designation through the National Alliance for Insurance Education and Research.
Darin is also active within the Missouri Association of Insurance Agents (MAIA) and annually attends the Small Agents Conference and Leadership Conference. In 2009, he became the Tournament Director for the Missouri Trusted Choice Big “I” Championship which is a junior golf tournament sponsored by MAIA.
In addition to his insurance career, Darin referees high school basketball and is President of the Southwest Missouri Basketball Officials Association (SMBOA). He also enjoys playing lots of golf and spending time with his four nephews Deacon, Bo, Jake, and Chapel.
A Bolivar native, Kelly is a licensed Property & Casualty agent and a licensed Life & Health agent. She has her CISR designation as well. She joined Capstone Insurors in August of 2006.
She brings more than five years' experience as a paralegal with her to Capstone and has enjoyed the transition to the insurance industry.
Kelly and her husband, Justin, have three sons; Andrew (Drew), Aidan and Asher. They enjoy attending their sons' sporting events and being active in the community. Kelly and her family attend Bolivar First Assembly of God Church, where they are members and Justin is the Youth Pastor. They enjoy being involved in missions and spending time with their youth group and Generations small group.
Kelly is quick to mention her favorite aspect of her job, "The people," she says. "Both the people I work with inside the office and the customers I serve are what allow me to enjoy coming to work each day."
J.R. Collins joined Capstone Insurors in February, 2008. He works in life and health but deals mainly with school health insurance group plans.
J.R. holds a Specialist degree in Secondary Administration. He is retired after 33 years in education of which 20 were as a high school principal. He spent the last nine years, of his career, as principal of Bolivar High School.
He and his wife, Lauretta, have one daughter, three sons and nine grand children. J.R. and Lauretta enjoy spending as much time as they can with their kids and grandchildren. J.R. also enjoys officiating high school basketball, baseball and track. Other hobbies are fishing, traveling and yard work.

Penny joined Capstone Insurors in October of 2009. She is licensed in health and life and specializes in school district benefits administration.
Penny spent four years as an independent business consultant with an emphasis in marketing and operations and 22 years in the Human Resource field. Prior to joining Capstone, she spent four years in the public school arena. Her experience in HR, operations and working in the central office of a public school district gives her a unique understanding of the needs of her school clients which helps her to provide customized customer service.
“My career has always revolved around accessing situations and finding the best avenues to help people. I am excited with the opportunities through OSBA and OSS to meet and exceed our clients’ expectations and provide a strong benefits administration solution for them.”
Penny and her husband, Patrick, feel very blessed to have an amazing family that consists of two sons, four daughters and three grandchildren. Now that it’s an empty nest at home, she enjoys spending her spare time gardening, tinkering with art and desktop publishing projects, and canoeing.
Amy McHolland joined Capstone Insurors in February, 2004 as a customer service representative. Her work includes processing new applications, taking premium payments and filing claims. She is also the friendly voice you’re most likely to hear when you call Capstone.
Amy graduated from Bolivar High School and gained valuable insurance experience working with AMS, a national firm serving the insurance industry, in Bolivar. Amy has her Property and Casualty Producer License.
She and her husband, Mike, enjoy staying fit by running together. They live in Springfield and enjoy attending area high school and college ballgames whenever they can. Amy is a member of the Bolivar First Assembly of God Church.
Like many of her co-workers, Amy sited the people as her favorite part of her job. “I work with a great bunch of people,” she says. “It’s fun to see how all our different talents combine as we work to help our customers.”
Beth joined Capstone Insurors in April 2012. She is a producer assistant and customer service representative. She primarily assists Jake Jacobson and Darin Banner with their quotes and other activities.
Beth is originally from Portland Oregon, after graduating high school she moved to Bolivar to attend Southwest Baptist University, she graduated from SBU in 2007 with a Bachelors in Athletic Training. Beth spent the next 4-5 years in healthcare before making the transition into insurance.
While not working Beth enjoys spending time with her family. Her husband Jake is a PGA Professional at Silo Ridge Golf and Country Club and they have a beautiful daughter, Taylor. As a family they enjoy playing golf, being outside and being around friends and family.
Jake joined Capstone Insurors in April 2012. He is a Producer, and is licensed in Property and Casualty Insurance. He sells auto, home, business insurance and more.
Jake is originally from Bolivar Missouri. After graduating high school he moved to Georgia to roof houses and learned about running a business. Upon returning to Bolivar, Jake spent the next few years working primarily for Jacobson Fencing while also working for Triple “C” Farms and Advanced Lawn Care. After learning portions of those trades he has now transitioned into insurance.
While not at work, Jake enjoys spending time with family and friends. Activities might include wakeboarding, snow skiing, or watching his siblings in all of their sporting events around Southwest Missouri.
Jessica joined Capstone Insurors in June 2012. She is a licensed Property and Casualty agent as well as the Controller for Capstone. She is responsible for all aspects of Financial Accounting and Reporting.
As a Bolivar native, Jessica graduated from SBU with degrees in Accounting and Economics/Finance. She has over 6 years of experience in both public and private accounting. Her past experience in accounting will help ensure the accurate and timely recording of business activities creating financial statements and reports in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
Jessica and her husband, Jason, have one daughter, Brielyn. They enjoy spending time with friends and family and going on evening walks with their dog Cora. Jessica’s hobbies include gardening and reading. She attends church at Prairie Home Missionary Baptist Church in Bolivar.
“After working in Springfield for the past several years, I am excited to be back in Bolivar,” Jessica says. “I look forward to being able to make a positive difference both here at Capstone and in the community. The team here at Capstone is exceptional and I feel blessed to be surrounded by such amazing people.”
Shanna joined Capstone Insurors in August 2012.
Shanna is originally from Bolivar, Missouri and received her Associates in Business degree from the University of Phoenix. Shanna spent four years working in the banking industry before making the transition into the insurance field. She is licensed in P&C and will be assisting in the Accounting department, as well as Customer Service.
While not at work, Shanna enjoys spending time with her family. Shanna and her husband Neil have one daughter, Skylar. Shanna enjoys shopping, hanging out with friends, and spending time outdoors.
Shanna is looking forward to working with a great group of people who truly care about their customers. She feels honored to be a part of the team here at Capstone.
Krista Edwards joined Capstone Insurors in 2008 as the Wellness Coordinator. She arranges wellness programs and incentives for the OSBA group to help control heath care costs via preventative measures.
After obtaining her Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Education, she became an ACE-Certified personal trainer. She has been training for the last eight years and currently owns Extra Mile Fitness in Springfield, MO. She became a personal trainer because she believes many of the health problems people face today can be prevented with proper diet and exercise. After seeing how many lives she could change for the better working with people on an individual basis, she was excited to get a chance to broadcast those same ideals on a corporate level by coming on board as Capstone’s Wellness Coordinator.
Krista and her husband Shad have two children; Alexa and Ashton. They enjoy spending time at the lake, hiking, and organic gardening. In her free time, Krista enjoys running, swimming, and riding her bike.
